Police thanks to public after Kelty man's arrest on break-in charges

Police have thanked the Kelty public for their help which led to the apprehending of a 30-year-old Kelty man for a series of break-ins to cars and houses in the Kelty and Cowdenbeath areas dating back to Christmas 2009.

Detective Sergeant Drummond, Cowdenbeath CID, stated that "following on from information from the public a local Kelty man was apprehended. He will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal at Dunfermline, for a large number of offences in both the Kelty and Cowdenbeath areas. We would like to thank the public for their assistance and for the information that they have provided."

Good news from the police but shouldn't that be announced in the newspapers? I'ts a sad fact some folk won't subscribe to a police news sheet.

Now what is a severe punishment the PF will give out to deter the young person committing anything again, or a detterent to keep others from partaking in similar offences,no doubt will be a pat on the back by some do-gooder who will blame television for his misadventures.I say send them all on national service and teach them to respect others who work hard for what they have.Colchester is place for many.

Patricia Winiarski says

when they get sent to prison they are laughing because they have a roof over their heads, they get 3 meals a day cooked for them, plus tv. etc, etc, put them in a cell with 4 bare walls, no tv etc, & for there meals give them slopes, let them out to the yard for maybe an hour each day for exercise, then lock them back in their cells, they would maybe think twice about committing another crime, today`s prisoners are better off than some of the people who don`t commit a crime, it is so so wrong
