Everybody loves Kelty! Joanne and Niamh win our ‘I love…’ competition
31 AugustWhy do you love Kelty? That was the question put to local school children in our special community competition.
Our judges have looked at the entries - and the winners are – Joanne Sorely and Niamh Mothersole ….
Joanne, who is aged eight and goes to Kelty Primary, and Niamh, aged seven at the same school, posted about why they love Kelty:
Joanne said: “I can go to Brownies, gymnastics, cycling and walking at The Meadies without having to go in the car.”
Niamh said: “The ladies in the shops speak to you here. We moved to Kelty from Kirkcaldy and I have been amazed by the people in the village taking time to chat to me.”
In the competition local school children were asked to tell everyone why they love Kelty. They just had to pick their favourite thing about Kelty – maybe their school lollipop lady, a local building or even a favourite club – and then tell us about it in any way we could show on www.s1kelty.com - a story, a poem, or even a picture they’d drawn or taken.
You can see all the competition entries here.
Congratulations to Joanne and Niamh – and thanks to everyone who took the time to enter the competition – and of course you can still share your comments and memories here on s1kelty any time.
