10/12/2009Do Kelty People Regret it or NOT

Due to Kelty people and many others in Fife who all voted in Labour, myself included, do you regret it now or not. What will you do next time who can you have faith in and trust.

1, Two illegal wars, thousands killed for no real reasons

2, Bailed out Bankers that make more in a bonus than you can make in 10 years wages

3, Subsidising Afghanistan and Iraq

4, Increased the amount of immigrants in Britain

5, Created 3 million unemployed

So are you still glad you voted in Labour, will you do it again.

Best of a bad bunch. Unless you have forgotten the Thatcher years and the pit closures that came with them!
Hi Robert, certainly not, in fact I never have and never will. I never have seen the benefits of being part of this bankrupt Britain!!! Its time for change in Scotland for the better, SNP for me!!
Conservatives were really bad but that was to be expected, Conservatives were never for ordinary working people............... Labour on other hand were. Yesterday on News, The man we put our faith and hopes in, Tony Blair admitted he put Britain in the Iraq War WMD or Not, he even followed Bush word for word.Thousands were killed for greed of Oil for the USA, British got higher petrol prices so Labour could finance for an "Illegal War", and no doubt Britain will vote them in again, for the war your grandchildren will die in.Id rather vote BNP or SNP before Id ever vote for labour again. Thousands died because of LIES.Then he got out of mess he made and let Gordon take over..England only have BNP or UKIP, Scotland has SNP or Liberals
People forget that to change governmet they need to stand up ad speak, and keep shouting, not just do it once the say ach what's the point then just accept their lot.

I left Kelty in the late sixties for there was no jobs.

The only way to have a job in those days was to join the British forces like a lot of my pals did, the coal pits had had their day.

When the London government says go to war the Scots have done just that, cannon fodder since 1707 for British colonialism.

I moved out of Kelty took a job in Forestry on private estates all over Scotland and now settled in Perth. I've been a member of the SNP since the early seventies, Robert Burns in one of his poems said show me the benefits of this union?

Mind you one of her greatest exports has been her people with more Scots living out-with Scotland than in it. To me that tells the story a failing nation!!!!

How can the union with the rest of Britain be equal? Can anyone answer me that when there are 529 English seats to Scotland's 59?

You send people like oor Mr Broon doon to do a job and all he's has done is bankrupt us all.

Forget socialism Fife and move forward not backward. We have what it takes!!!

Congratulations Mr Anderson, at last there is someone out there who has restored my faith in the Human Race. That is the only piece of common sense I have read on this site for a very long time, (with the exceptions of my own entries of course). CHAAAAARRRRRGGGGGEEEE!!!!!!!
That about sums up the mentality, when people like John are prepared to vote in fascists, who akin raping women to forcefeeding them chocolate. Nick Griffins quote not mine.
Thing is who is there left to vote for, Conservatives we know are really bad, and Labour is worse, So who is left in Scotland to vote for, SNP or Liberals.
Scotland needs Independence from the UK, not just a little, but 100%,we shouldnt give Westminster our taxes and get a pittance back.We shouldnt pay to keep the German/English Royalty. Our Scottish regiments shouldnt be amalgamated all into one regiment, losing their history and battle honours,And we should sell to England the water and electricity they dont have and they take from Scotland free. and we shouldnt share our oil revenue with England, nor give Free education to English and Foreign students in our universities, and we shouldnt give Grants to Foreign companies to get started in Scotland and then they move out to Europe when they are established Why use Scotlands cash and workers to start a company for Europe to benefit. And if Scotland wants to be in EEU would be like jumping out frying pan into the fire. And plus Scottish soldiers wouldnt be used as cannon fodder in Foreign lands that dont concern us,We shouldnt worry about what kind of governments rule other countries. many of our soldiers have died for nothing concerning Scotland.if we fear Islamic countries, why do we welcome them to stay here. These last two wars werent needed.
Hi Martin, Scotland doesn't have a choice sink or swim. The SNP will make mistakes but if they are true Nationalist they will feel hellish for making them, for they are there not for glory! not for riches but for freedom alone. Scotland please don't blame the English for our troubles, blame the quisling you all send down south they are the ones. I've lived under labour and Tory government nothing changes. Do you ever listen to the unionists in the Scottish parliament they make you want to be sick, Gray, Goldie and who's that other yin?

Before I go were you ever taught Scotland's history at school or were you like me you had to learn it yourself? The British don't want you to learn about our past, the ethnic cleansing of the highlands, the battles we had to stay free!!

We even write in English, what's wrong with our own Languages? cheerio the noo
Jings min Tam if ye talk lik auld Kelti fook did years ago a ken I hae aiwis hae din nane o thay noo anes wid ken whit yer sain, eftir aw thair aw edjikated wi text fraze books, bet ye thairs no evin moni Kelty yains thit kin evin ken wit a hae writ heer, thair aw anglo scots noo
Tam you keep saying that we sent Brown down south. No. Not one of us sent him down south. He is unelected. No one wanted him in there, so please don't ask us to blame ourselves for it. John, you sound like you SHOULD be voting SNP.
Tina thats a very sensible attitude hen, we should be voting SNP!!!!!! To rid ourselves eventually from being linked with the English and put down/held back by there outdated colonial attitudes,
Hi John its guid tae hear whit yiv got tae say. I've lived in the Perth area fir 30 odd years and they still cannae oonderstand whit am sayin. Tina Paterson, any relation tae the Paterson twins? They wir guid singers. Tina, someone fae Fife sent oor Mr Broon doon tae be the chancellor of this great Britain, or is it chancer? I don't live in Fife so it wiznae me hen!!!
Roy, thanks! I'm a firm believer in independance. Living under English rule has done nothing for us. Tam, I understand what you're saying but if it really was a case of only one Fifer who sent Brown down there then it's still not fair to blame the whole of Scotland for it! I think you'd find of you asked all of us, most of us would say we did not want him down there, and still don't! So I'm sorry, but I won't be shouldering the blame, as a Scot and Fifer, for Brown being an unelected poisonous timewaster in the most powerful seat in the UK. Incidentally though Tam, nah I'm no a relation to the Paterson twins. I am a guid singer though! :D Have a good one. :)
Tina, I wiznae blaming you personally hen or the rest of Scotland fir whit Scotland has tae suffer under Mr Broon and his labour Government, but a lot of Scotland did vote Labour and have done for over 50 years. When I lived in Kelty the folk couldn't see past Labour, if its guid enough fir ma faither and mither its guid enough fir me they wid say. Myself I've never voted for any other party than the SNP since i wiz first given the vote at 18. Anyway I'm glad yer a believer in independence. Can ye sing like a lintie Tina?? Hae a braw day Tina :-)
Ach awa wi yersel Tam, I wisnae takin it personally! Just trying to figure out who it is yer tryin to blame! One minute it seems like yer sayin all of Scotland should tak the blame fir Broon, the next yer saying it was jist one Fifer. See where I'm comin fae? I keep trying tae vote, I keep having to register onto the electoral role. Then when I'm waiting for my polling car coming through, it never arrives so I ask why and they say I'm not on the electoral role! So I dinnae get my chance to vote. But if I did I'd be voting SNP. Aye, i can sing like a wee lintie awright! :D
Ok Tina since we've got the politics ironed out what are we going to talk about? I see Big Jock has some recordings on here. So Tina we're waiting on you to sing like a wee lintie for us on here, any chance o' that? A ken Big Jock Redmond went to Oakfield school like myself is there anyone else on here? When I was a young lad I remember going to the Regal picture house sitting in the back row with the girl friends, one at time that is. Those were the days :-) It was a sad day in Kelty when they closed it down.
Aye there's a chance, taking requests! I had heard about he picture house actually (I'm only 26, I came to Kelty from London when I Was 3) it's a real shame that that and most of the other good things Kelty used to have got shut down. I certainly would have gone to it. People in Kelty HAVE to travel out of town now to get recreation, and it's a huge shame, that's a huge loss in revenue that Kelty could really use to pick itself back up again.
So yer a sassenach Tina!! Och, we'll nae hud that against ye hen. LOL As long as you've promise tae sing fir us. :-) Whit kind of songs dae ye like tae sing jist tae gee us an idea. There wiz twa picture hooses in Kelty the goth and the Regal. I've nae idea whit Kelty is like tae live in noo, but back in my days it wiz a guid place tae live apart fae a scarcity of work especially efter the coal pits closed. Hoping tae hear ye sing like a lintie Tina :-)

Have your say:
