Delay for St Joseph's Primary Extension
An extension to St Joseph's Primary School in Kelty is to be delayed until after the summer holidays councillors were told at last weeks Education Committee.
The start date for the project has been delayed due to the discovery of mine workings during routine site investigations. The only safe time to undertake the remedial work is during the summer holidays therefore the project start date has slipped to accommodate the additional works. The extension project is due to start immediately after the ground consolidation works.
A two classroom extension with an office and breakout space has been designed along with an accessible toilet and cloakroom area. Planning permission is to be sought soon with neighbours and parents being given the opportunity to view the plans in the next week.
