Best Way to stop Excessive Drinking In Scotland and Britain

by Just Jock

Best way to stop young drinkers, and excessive drunks in Scotland ands Britain isnt to raise prices of drink.

PRE-1970 Britain didnt have as much excessive drinking because of simple Laws

Alchohol for instance sold in Kelty and other parts of Fife was only available to buy in OFF-Licenced Premises, such as Wm Condies down Black Road next to No 3 Goth. and they were only open at strict certain times.. Shops opened at 8am but alchohol etc was

Only allowed to sell between 11am -2.30pm  and 5.pm-10pm   only 6 days a week closed on Sundays
PROOF OF AGE WAS REQUIRED.

NO CARRY OUTS  from PUBS unless by someone who was already drinking there and was same cost as a pint in pub.that way pubs didnt lose any profits......NO CHEAP CANS of BEER SPIRITS WERE TO EXPENSIVE TO BUY FROM A PUB.After all why should bars encourage drinkers to stay at home.

But since it all changed we have Corner shops, Newsagents, supermarkets, any kind of shop with a drink licence, and Government wonders why Britain has so many young drinkers and so many older drunks.far to easy to obtain.

RETURN TO OLD LICENCE LAWS to sell Drink and drunks will lessen. All alcoholic drinks are far to easy to obtain now. cheap beers and wines at Supermarkets, helped to start increase of drunks young and old.

How would you help cut down on Young drinkers and excessive alchoholism.

Tina Paterson says

I agree. Go back to the old Licencing Laws.
