In case people wonder why he doesn't smile you need to concentrate because on each button you get two notes, take the third or forth button down that's C when pushing bellows and D when pulling out or vice versa depending make of box, the knocking noise you hear is what's called melodeon slap that's the keys that do that.
I think it would be grand if there was a melodeon band in Fife, in fact can't understand why it isn't taught in schools.
