2,Netherton Burn on old North Rd banks of river is great place to detect also was great for picnics in early 1900s,

4,Old bridle paths leading from Blairadam estate down towards Maryburgh is another good place especially where woods surround old school,
5,Old Bridle paths and footpaths from rear of Blairadam house down towards Cleish you pass a house that used to be called the yellow house, it used to store old lead coffins that belonged to DooHill Castle
in 1800s,
6, Seeking permission from Farmer Thompson at Netherton farm, the fields at rear of the farmhouse used to have an army camp there during ww2 Polish paratroopers used to practise and land in fields around there..
7, Ladybank near Annsmuir caravan park and golf course was a POW camp that german prisoners were kept in during WW2.
8, Balado airfield used to be a fighter station during WW2.
